Removal of tattoos and permanent makeup

Do you have a tattoo or permanent makeup that you regret or would like to change? At Dr. Jagielska's Aesthetic Medicine Clinic, we offer an effective method of removing unwanted pigments – a modern picosecond laser that allows you to get rid of the design in just a few sessions, regardless of the color and type of dye. This is currently one of the most effective and safest techniques for removing tattoos and permanent makeup. The use of a laser minimizes the risk of scarring or discoloration, which can occur with older methods (such as acids, dermabrasion, or whitening creams).

Tattoo and makeup removal – about the procedure

At Dr Jagielska's Aesthetic Medicine Clinic, the treatment involves the use of a picosecond laser, which emits an ultra-short light pulse – this photomechanical action breaks down the ink particles in the skin without excessive heating of the tissues. Thanks to this process, tattoos and permanent makeup are removed faster and more effectively than with traditional technologies. The device operates at different wavelengths, which allows it to work effectively regardless of the color of the ink – both black and colored. Short pulses ensure that the tissues surrounding the pigment remain almost intact and the recovery time is significantly shorter.

How does the procedure work?

Before the procedure, a consultation is conducted to determine the number of sessions required based on the type, depth, and color of the tattoo or makeup. On the day of the procedure, the area to be treated with the laser is first anesthetized with a topical cream. The doctor then performs the procedure—after the treatment is complete, the area is covered with a dressing and the patient receives post-treatment recommendations. The duration of the session itself depends on the size and location of the tattoo—laser treatment usually takes between 10 and 30 minutes, plus preparation time. In the case of permanent makeup, the treatment may take significantly less time.

Does laser removal hurt?

Thanks to the use of anesthetic cream, the procedure is well tolerated. Most patients feel only a slight tingling sensation in the area treated with the laser. Picosecond technology significantly reduces the impact of heat on the skin, which translates into less discomfort and a milder recovery process than with older methods. Patients often describe the procedure as comfortable and fully tolerable.
